When using tutorials, try using 2 windows. One with the tutorial, and one with the page you are editing. These windows can be resized by going to the edge of the window and "dragging" it to the size you want. Place them side by side and follow along with the tutorial!  To open a new window simply hold down the ctrl key and hit N or you can click on file at the top of your screen, open, new window. This will open as a duplicate of the page you already have open so use links to go to pages you need. Saves a lot of time printing the tutorial out or going back and forth trying to follow it.

Put Email Contacts into the Favorites Menu

Here's a cool trick on how to use the Favorites list to send email:

  1. Open Internet Explorer, click the Favorites menu and click the Add to Favorites command.
  2. In the Add Favorite dialog box, type the person's name. For example, we'll type Bob Dobbs in the Name text box. Click OK.
  3. Click the Favorites menu, right click on the Bob Dobbs entry and click Properties.
  4. In the Bob Dobbs Properties dialog box, remove the information in the URL text box and replace it with the person's email address. In this example, we'll type in mailto:bob@dobbs.com. Click OK.
  5. Click on the Favorites menu again and click on the link you created. It opens an email message and automatically puts in the person's email address in the To: text box.
  6. Want to have the link on your desktop? Click the Favorites menu, right click on the link and point to Send to. Click on Desktop. Now the email link appears on the desktop.
You can even take a picture of that person and if you format it correctly, change the icon so that the person's picture is the icon! Just click on Grandma if you want to send her mail. :)

Start a personal "private site" to add all gifs, pics, documents etc.
All my gifs are in neat little albums, ready to be used anytime, anyplace without using up extra storage space.

I also joined under All of my passports and made all managers so that the site is accessible from any passport I am signed into. This also gives me a place to work on pages without having to hide them from others eyes  until they are finished. Then just click on use html at the bottom and  hit ctrlA to highlight and ctrlC to copy.. then paste onto a new page on your public site...

IF you have your settings set to private in your personal site, do not try linking the documents to your public site... other members will not be able to see them, but the gifs will work fine no matter what the settings!
