 List of Healing Herbs for Candles

These herbs are to be mixed into candle wax when making a candle that will be used in a healing spell.  PLEASE DO NOT INGEST!  Some of these herbs can be harmful and or fatal if swallowed.

  • Adders Tongue:  Stomach ulcers and tumors
  • Agrimony:  Jaundice and diseases of the liver.
  • Alder:  Diarrhea, inflammations and sore throat.
  • All-Heal:  External wounds
  • Aloe Vera Leaves:  burns and external wounds.
  • Angelica:  Alcohol and drug abuse, delayed menstrual period, and toothache pain.
  • Anise:  Bronchial asthma, bronchitis.
  • Blessed Thistle:  Colds
  • Bloodroot:  RIng worms
  • Catnip:  Anxiety, fever, menstrual cramps
  • Chamomile:  Colic, fever, inflammations, menstrual cramps, and nervous conditions.
  • Chickweed:  Inflammations.
  • Cinnamon:  Flu
  • Coltsfoot:  Bronchial asthma, bronchitis, chest complaints, coughs.
  • Comfrey:  Dysentery, external wounds, and stomach ulcers.
  • Corriander:  Fever.
  • Costmary:  Infections.
  • Crimson Clover:  Cancers.
  • Daisy:  Bronchial Asthma.
  • Dandelion:  Constipation, gall stones and ailments of the liver, pancreas, spleen, or female organs.
  • Dogwood:  Fevers and infections.
  • Elderflowers:  Colds, constipation, fever, hemorrhoids, and impotency.
  • Elecampane:  Coughs and irregular menstruation.
  • Eyebright:  Eye ailments.
  • Fennel:  Anxiety, constipation and irregular menstrual periods.
  • Garlic:  Arthritis, bronchial asthma, infections and rheumatism.
  • Ginger:  Fever, impotency and menstrual cramps.
  • Ginseng:  Impotency and any sexual ailments.
  • Goldenrod:  Bladder infections, inflammations and insomnia.
  • Goldenseal:  Eczema, eye ailments, internal infections, poison ivy, rectal ulcers, and ringworms.
  • Hawthorn:  Arteriosclerosis, edema, heart ailments and weak muscles.
  • Horehound:  Colds, coughs, and constipation.
  • Horseheal:  Fever.
  • Horseradish Root:  Bronchitis, colds, kidney conditions and rheumatism.
  • Irish Moss:  Burns and coughs.
  • Jacobs Ladder:  Fever.
  • Jasmine:  Impotency.
  • Jimsonweed:  Poison Ivy.
  • Juniper:  Neuralgic pains, rheumatism and swellings.
  • Lady's Mantle:  Fever, headaches, inflammations, insomnia, menopause, menstrual cramps and toothaches.
  • Lavender:  Depression, fatigue, headache, impotency, neuralgic pains, rheumatism and sprains.
  • Liferoot:  Menstruation, and menstrual problems.
  • Mallow:  Tonsilitis.
  • Mandrake Root:  Impotency and infertility.
  • Milkweed:  Warts.
  • Motherwort:  All female problems.
  • Mugwort:  Fever and poison ivy.
  • Mullien Leaves:  Bronchial asthma.
  • Myrrh:  Gum irritations and pain.
  • Nettle:  Bronchial asthma, muscle aches, stomach ulcers, and diseases of the lungs and intestines.
  • Passionflower:  Insomnia.
  • Pennyroyal:  Fever and menstrual cramps.
  • Peppermint:  Headaches and muscle cramps.
  • Rose:  Kidney stones.
  • Rosemary:  Colds, colic, congestion of the liver, depression, fatigue, headaches, high blood pressure, nervous heart conditions, paralysis, rheumatism, stress, weakness of the limbs and vertigo.
  • Saffron:  Depression and fever.
  • Sage:  Colds and coughs, depression, fever, flu, insomnia, pleurisy, sprains and vericose veins.
  • Scabwort Root:  Fever and infections.
  • Serpentaria Root:  Snakebites, and Impotency.
  • Shepherd's Purse:  Bruises, skin irritations, and rheumatism.
  • Solomons Seal:  Bruises, skin irritations, and wounds.
  • St. John's Wort:  Depression, diarrhea.
  • Strawberry Leaves and Flowers:  Gout.
  • Thyme:  Fever, headaches and whooping cough.
  • Valerian:  Anxiety, insomnia, rheumatism, stress and swollen joints.
  • Vervain:  Fever.
  • Violet:  Infections.
  • Willow Bark:  Headaches, childbirth.
  • Witch Hazel:  Anxiety, eczema, inflammations, swellings, tumors, and also an can be used as an attractant.
  • Wormwood:  Colds and fevers.
  • Yarrow:  Canker sores, colds, fevers, liver diseases and muscle aches.

Herbs should be ground finely, empowered with the intended use and added to wax when making a candle.  The candles should be blessed and then burned.  For these types of spells, it is always best to use the seven day candle design.  Knob candles also work well for these, the user lighting the next knob of the candle each day with their intention in thought. 

*note:  some of these herbs can be ingested, HOWEVER do not do so unless you are an experienced herbalist or have recieved clearance from a doctor or pharmacist.
