If you are the new and beginner writer, you must research and learn the rules of writing before putting words on paper.

Not only the rules of writing, but the tricks, and do's and don'ts.

There are many, and probably too many to grasp in one crash course, but ABC's is a good starting place and the longer you participate, the more you will learn, arming yourself with the essentials to be a better, and more educated, writer.

Once you've read all that is offered at ABC's, feel free to research further and learn more before you begin to write, then take your writing and edit, applying what you've learned. If you find any misinformation, email me.

You'll immediately notice the difference in your writing.

You MUST have a good comprehension of all the writing rules. A knowledge of the active voice versus the passive voice (a writing rule and common mistake), various commons mistakes made by beginners, a strong author's voice and style, building believeable characters: character development and evolution, good, believable dialogue, proper punctuation, proper formatting, plot and subplots, all the do's and dont's, words used incorrectly, proper sentence structure, the importance of correct spelling, NOT using idioms and cliches, strong verbs, adverbs, adjectives, conjunctives and omitting unnecessary conjuctions and nouns for proper sentence structure, taglines: when to use and when NOT to use, how to create a story/plot using character dialogue and less of the third person narrative, tenses; always using past tense, except in character's dialogue, first person narrative and third person narrative: how and when to choose, and if you write in first person narrative, try your ability in the third person narrative instead, especially if you seek publishing.

That sounds like a lot to learn and remember, and can be discouraging-- but don't give up and throw away your pen and paper yet. Once you apply what you are learning to your writing, it will become second nature and instilled forever. From that day forward, your writing will improve, relfecting your talent, and the knowledge you've been armed with.

There's more to learn, but ABC's has a solid beginning of those basics, and I can personally help along the learning process. There's more to learn than what's offered on our Menu.

Feel free to email me, and/or, post your questions for an answer.

I also offer critiques by email and private tutoring. If you are in the process of editing your stories and manuscripts for publication, or simply want it perfect, I offer my editorial services.  (I will also answer any questions you may have about writing by email.)
