I don't have kids of my own but I work with 4 low functioning autistic boys and have been through some of the frustrations and difficut situations dealing with their behaviors. I have also been through the joy of seeing them grow and learn over the last year.

Hi all, I have a nearly 3 yr old austic son named reece. He was diagnosed at the begining of this year and life is hard, but not a day goes by that he doesnt make me feel happy I have got him. He is so special, and makes me feel like crying when I see him sitting in the garden in HIS corner next to the rosemary tree( which he likes to eat) and he always looks so lonely. I think it is hard for him everyday to understand the world around him. His passions are helping himself to food in the cuboards and his pets. He loves animals and relates to them better than me sometimes. He goes to them when he is frustrated. I would like to talk to people who can relate to all of this. suzanna

I have three kids Rosie 7 who is being diagnosed with Aspergers, mild autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and or dyspraxia. Tom 5 who is severely autistic and Jack 3 who may be autistic or may be copying the others, and have just adopted a mad 10 month old Labrador puppy. Tom is non verbal, very destructive (not sure who is worse Tom or the dog.) but he gets away with it because he has big brown eyes and a great smile.

I have 3 wonderful children...Justin, 22 (a Marine MP)...Bridget, 20...and my youngest, Keith (12) who is mildly autistic. I also have 5 step children...Josh, 25...Jake, 19....Adam, 15....Crystal, 13...and Dustin, 10. So my life stays PRETTY busy. Keith was diagosed 9 years ago and right now is 1 of the only 2 autistic children in our whole county. There are no support groups in our area, so I was very happy to find this group. I look forward to talking to everyone.

I have a 3 year old (will be 4 in november) who is undergoing autism testing. If he is autistic he is very high end and has "positive structures" as one lady told us. I also have Allen who we don't see much of due to Trevor's aggression. I am all for learning as much as we can and helping make our family whole again. I am also going to school for vet tech.

We live in a very small community with very little access to help for our son Jackson. It has been a fight for us the whole way. He is so worth it and I feel so priviledged to be his Mom. We have 3 sons. My oldest is 21, then 15 and now our surprise baby Jackson who is three. I feel like taking care of him is the most important thing I will ever do in this life. Our purpose is now clear. Thanks for letting me join your group.

GOd has blessed me with a greathusband, two boys..........and in the pink corner our 20 month old Girl! Our oldest son has autism it appears. The doctors want to try meds, then a speech test, but from the minor surfing I did last night too many things add up. I am actually relieved to have an answer now. It'll be a challenge and then some, if everything was perfect and we were all 100% content, we wouldn't be thankful. Each day together is a chance to do God's will and try our hardest.

Author of the book Pre Rain Man Autism (I-Universe) My book takes off where Temple Grandin's Thinking in Pictures left off and Explains Autism from Babythought to advanced ones. I relate my experience and those of my populations that are on the wrong side of the Autism time line. We missed diagnoiss due to our ages ,and we had social skills training due to the populations we belong to. Today we drive and do 'normal lives' think autistically and normally. We present much better than our Straight counterparts of the same age. My webpage, Http://Hometown.aol.com/austicrich/page1.html

Unfortunately services in Puerto Rico are not good I'm planning to relocate to Brevard's co in Florida to help him get through this which is very scary since we have to live all behind (house, great jobs, family etc) and all I know its through the Internet Right now I'm confused. I need help "digesting" this Am I doing right relocation to FL Please HHEELLPP!!!!!!

Married to a man somewhat unorganized only normal person in home. 2 children Bryanna 4.5 yrs. may have Asperger traits but is extremely smart. Stephanie 23 months old. Diagnosed ASD at 19 months. Should have been sooner but you know those doctors keep wanting you to wait to see if they grow out of it. WHEN ARE THEY EVER GOING TO LEARN? Didn't doctors go to school for like 8 years for a reason? You figure they may actually be smart. NOT. Me diagnosed ADD with learning disabilities 2000/2001. Once I researched more information about autism I would have to say that I definately fall in the Aspergers category. No official diagnoses for me yet. Our family is filled with languages and culture. Main one is english only language being taught to the children to save confusion. I speak spanish, born in USA, lived in South America for the first 6 yrs of my life and moved here to WinTerpeg. My husband is Ukrainian but has lived here all his life. My father has been to many countries and speaks about 5 languages.

I have a beautiful 6 yr old son, who is aspergic, lives his life around numbers can easily count up to a 1000 and back again, likes to plan things round 'time' so often carries a clock around with him (this can be very useful to get him to do things for himself). A very placid child who does not throw temper tantrums so people often think he is 'normal' (whatever that is). Very new to this site so not had a good look at it, still trying to get into a chat section but always seem to miss it. Do not know anybody with an autistic child and I know I would learn much more talking to other parents in the same boat as me. Hopefully will come in contact with you all shortly.

A thanks to Roger for finding and directing me to such a wonderful group of caring people! A thanks to all managers/members for your warm welcome. Terrelle is my 6 years old son who happens to be autistic. He is non-verbal and have no communication skills. I also have another son who's 17 years old and he's deaf. However, he's doing excellent and attends a deaf school. Both of my boys are precious and wonderful! Right now, I am focused on Terrelle and his every day struggles & difficulties. Basically, I'm lost right now after going to many Dr's, hospitals & clinics! We should acknowledge differences, we should greet differences, until differences makes no difference anymore - Adela A.
