San Andres Island  -  Columbia San Andres is located 90 miles off the eastern coastline of Nicaragua. This series of cays and islands also includes the larger islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina. All of them belong to the country of Colombia, 480 miles to the southeast. Population 75,000  |  Languages Spanish, English  |  Land Area (all islands and cays) 47 sq km One of my favorite visits on San Andres Island was to the Centro de Attencion Especial Orange Hill (Special Education School for Disable Children)   Yes, I met another "Angel on Earth"...  Her name Is Nelly, and she runs the school on Orange Hill.  She gave me the grand tour and I got to meet every single child there.    Nellie Facuseh Jackaman Administrator/Director of Orange Hill School in San Andres Island   1/3 of these children have Autism and I'm so impressed with the work that is being done for our other little Angels over there, that I would like to offer any kind of help I can...  One of the first things that came to mind is sending them PECS to help them learn communication skills and I'll be working on that  very soon, but these children (like so many others in the world) need more since people are extremely poor there and grants are simply non-existent...
