It is a good filter, small, yet enough room for 3 of their sized media's.(I use carbon and 2 sponges)
It's main drawback is the ability to restart after power loss. It cannot, and in turn that burns the motor out. It is a very tempermental filter in that everything has to be just right (leveled, intake siphon needs proper positioning, etc) for it to start. Even during regular maintenence including cleaning it is quite picky.
It is cheap, as is the media for it.
Out of a possible 10, I give this filter a 5. Low because so easily can the motor burn out.
