I have heard that this is by far the best aquarium heater available, and having recently obtained one myself, I wholeheartedly agree. When I first started keeping fish, I had only a couple of 3.5 gallon tanks, for bettas, and the Ebo is not, to my knowledge, available in a size small enough for such a tiny tank. I had to use a different brand of submersible heater which I have not been displeased with, but which could be the subject for another review! In short, the Ebo is a well crafted heater that can take much harsher treatment than the other brand I use. The glass is much thicker than conventional heaters, therefore harder to break. I particularly appreciate how easy the Ebo is to set to a specific temperature. The other brand I use does not have a marked dial, so gauging temperature involves a lot of guess work and monitoring. With the Ebo, I just turn the dial and know what the temperature will be. I also like that it is true to its word, it does indeed keep the temperature of the water within a half degree of what it is set to. This eliminates those annoying and potentially hazardous temperature fluctuations. I have yet to be as impressed with any other product, except maybe Melafix, as I am with this heater. I highly recommend it to anyone. Best of all is the price. It is priced to compete with other brands, and therefore you don't have to pay a fortune for it. I know this review is redundant, as everyone here sings the Ebo-Jager's praises. But I thought I'd contribute my bit!!
