 The Prison

The gates were parted, and out stepped the girl one thought they all knew... but no one knew her for that was why she was hidden behind walls of pain. She pushed the gates wide and BURST forth with a yell that hurt ears even blocks away.... Birds flew with terror from the scream that shrieked forth from such a small child. The sky was dark from behind her, as dark as the ravens coat that flew above and away from her head. She turned and pushed shut the gates of the doors behind her. She struggled to close the doors of steel knowing the comfort she was leaving behind. The pulls on the heart strings were almost as strong as the pain that held her there for so long. Finally after losing her grip on the ground a few times the doors shut with such a loud thud that people came running and thought it was a wreck. The place she left behind the doors dark and grey looked unreal as the smoke still flowing forth at her feet covered the burnt grass. The sun was high in the sky but didn't penetrate the dark fortress behind her. These few steps she would take would be as a new born calf. Weakly, slowly... and even tumbling at times. Sweat dripped from her brow as the hot summer sun beat upon her breast. Each step she took with great pain. The pull of what was behind was still reaching out to her with strength incomprehensible by moral man. Her only thoughts of freedom, she marched forward. No more than baby steps away and the doors were slowly opening behind her. Whispered words rang forth only she could hear... "You really don't want to go that way." "What are you thinking, it's much better and safer in here." "Don't be fooled you can't handle it." And even curses... "You are going to be sorry." "You're going to get hurt again." "You better watch it." "You will be back!" How these whispers seemed like knives and how the words kept echoing... For what seemed like 5 minutes she stood in place debating if the words she was hearing were true. She turned around as if to go back in. She walked slowly to the doors almost with regret of leaving that place in which she's never known any other. Then with all her strength she yelled and pushed shut the doors and padlocked them. Never to return to the prison of her mind.
For if she would, there would be no return to the world in which she has found. Sure the pain in the new world seemed to be overbearing but it wasn't, as she was stronger than she thought... that new born calf was marching forth with the power of a hundred military men. Strong and brave, she would not fall by the way side again. She would continue to fight the objects that may pop up in her way. But upon this journey she wouldn't be alone. For her coming out brought friends and family with her to support her as she goes. Although often times it appears as if she is completely alone, she thinks back to the times when she wouldn't let anyone in and no one to know her at all. The attacks she may receive in this new world are strong the battle long... with each step the words echo of that she yelled when she broke forth the gates that held her "FREEDOM!" - Annika

Here is where I lay...

Those doors you try to open, those walls you try to climb, there is no way in, but only the way out.... and even those that try to go.... seem to always return to the walls which hold one to closely to thy side.

.+'*'+..+'*'+..+'*'+..+'*'+..+'*'+..+'*'+..+'*'+..+'*'+..+'*'+.

Can't you see I'm dying to fly, dying to die, dying to be free, dying to fly. Open thy gates let thy flood come forth.

I walk along these streets so grey, I recall something I heard the other day, I hear a song, I hear a bird, I long for your word, that will never be heard, I sit and wait... And wait I do. I wait and wait and wait I do... Although I wait and wait some more, I can't live my life in wait anymore. I need to give, and need to love, I need to live, to be free as a dove.

END OF LIFE...

Reaching, trying, pulling, crying,

Help me, save me, kill me, please me,

Screams of torment, tears of pain,

Blood pouring forth, this life's in vain.

Hanging, dandling, twisting, turning, twitching, cracking,

Rope pulled tightly, snap of neck ease the pain.

Popping, pouring, swallowing, choking, sleeping, slowly,

Pills the sleep, forever more.

Smooth, sharp, back and forth, flowing river, streams forth,

Cuts from steel, wait and wait.

Driving, wind, whoosh, whoosh, splat, thud,

Jumping does.

Click, load, cock, pull, bang, bang,

Ease my pain.

Can't you see, these five things,

Cause you pain even more, life is long,

End thy life, suffer more...

Flames of hell consume you, forever more!
