| The sparrow that feels like an eagle, is about to try her wings, She listens to her heart, and the song it sings. The parent sits by patiently, as she catches the breeze, Hi sonly hope, her eyes see like an eagle, and sees the danger, he sees. He has no doubt, love calls to her, as she takes to the skies, He puts his head, under his wing, to clear the tears from his eyes. When he looks back up, she's disappeared, into the clouds above, He says a prayer silently, as his heart fills again with love. Tonight, he'll sit on his perch, high in a tree, knowing she has the will, She'll follow her heart, he'll say a prayer, that her dreams she'll fulfill. 7/15/02 N.W.M These poems are copyrighted and published please email and ask for permission of use. |
