Resizing Your Photos

Open the desired photo in Photo Shop

Go to Image >Image Size

Arrow showing a huge file size of 56.1 Mb 

 longest side = 3836 pixels

 

Change longest Side (Width) to 600 pixels.

Having the Contrain Proportions boxed checked will allow the photo to resize evenly

This is the point at which you should sharpen the image for web

 

Open

For web the profile should be sRGB. Other color profiles are used for editing Raw files, etc. If you are not sure about what profile you should use set your camera for color space for sRGB

To Save a resized copy

Go to File>Save As

 

Click on the desired folder to Save in

Choose Format: JPEG

Check off Save: As a copy

Click on: Save

 

Move the file size slider to 8 or large file

Your file size will appear under Size

Click on OK

 

This box will pop up when you close your original photo

Suggest clicking NO and saving your original

 

To post using MSN Group Storage click on the yellow square to post a photo in a message in a thread.

We suggest using Windows SkyDrive or other free online storage. Copy the photo with your curser and use the PASTE CLIPBOARD icon in the MSN toolbar to add to a thread or follow the storage site's HTML instructions. CUT and COPY icons on this toolbar will only work on the MSN group site photos, icons and text
