I have found this to be the best site to teach all of us what is needed- to remain safe online. I would like to thank Victoria Roddell for all the help she has given me this week. It covers the globe so what ever part of the world you are in- you can be up to date on staying safe. The children's section is excellent as it tells what to do when dealing with someone that scares you or that you feel alarmed by --you know kids they won't always tell the parents so this impressed me - I think more kids would prefer to help themself first before going to the parents.
I am just going to put some links showing parts of it --but I do STRONGLY ADVISE you to spend some time in here looking. Let your kids know about the site..so they may also browse- before they need it. There are also tips for shopping on line- you name it and this site will have it.
I have been working on this now for awhile trying to find one site -- that was reputable and covered the the issues we all face.
This site has links to other sites and will take you there but is the closest to perfect I have found - all the data and urls being linked for our purposes --is written and organized and easy to investigate..
I hate when I start on one site and then have to go to others. Also I have come across other good sites but they do not cover various countries- our club needs everything...this also is good as it tells about netiquette for both kids and adults..(we all have come across a few who do not know that manners are a bit different online) This was my goal - to educate all members and myself for there are many new things happening everyday.
You matter to me so protect yourself, educate yourself and your loved ones because computers are here to stay and the more they are used the more gimmicks people will come up with to misuse them..So nothing fancy here..it will be just direct links because safety should be taken seriously.
