Moderator message 3-9-8 Greetings. As some of you may have noticed, we've been hit by spammers recently. This page hasn't been active for ages, but I felt it necessary to switch the membership and messages over to moderated status. I'll try to keep things current, however since there's hardly any activity here anymore, I may not check in daily. I still anticipate that this group will eventually be phased out completely, but for the time being, it still houses the photos for the fitting tutorial and boots tutorial, so I'm going to keep it open. Those of you who were interested in the loom-knit soaker pattern will be happy to know that a new, better-fitting, less bulky version is in the works. I have completed a sample and though I need to fine--tune the pattern, I believe I have come up with a design I really like and which will be very wearable and functional. I just was never happy with the original, which was too bulky and too loosely-knit for my tastes. I think when this one is complete, you will all be very pleased. I will post it here for testing first. Then I intend to move it to my store www.chloetoesboutique.com I even have visions of some additional loom-knit baby items to match the soaker, such as soaker pants, baby sweater, baby hat, bag, etc. I am excited about this one. I love my Knifty Knitter loom but have been unhappy with the limited options you get with such a large-guage loom. The new pattern solves this nicely. :-) And that's all I can tell you for now. Once I get the pattern down, we'll need to find time to do photos and write up the instructions. I can't tell you when that will happen but I am hoping for sometime before the end of March. Thanks for your interest and for hanging around. If you like the information here, please do check out our other site. www.chloetoesboutique.com Most of our completed tutorials (sewing fold-over elastic, training pants, soft leather shoes) have been transferred there already. We also have a free, downloadable diaper cover pattern available there in seven sizes from preemie to XXL, complete with detailed instructions. I will continue to host some of the tutorials here for awhile longer, particularly the ones that are being developed. I don't know when I'll have time to complete them, but have not abandoned them. I still hope to get them completed, esp the custom-fitting tutorial, and transferred to the main site. Meanwhile, you'll be able to view the works-in-progress here. Catharine |
