| "Now I'll Do Those Counta Things" Adding Counters to your home page (or any other page in your community) is great for helping you keep track of how many visitors or "hits" you have had as of present. Many counters are readily available on the net, free to download and quick and simple to install. And you really don't need to have any prior experience of HTML. To install a counter, begin by following these simple instructions. -
Go To: one of the sites listed at the end of this tutorial -
Click Sign-Up, then fill in the necessary information. -
Select a counter style. -
Copy the supplied HTML code. Highlight it with your mouse then press CTRL-C. -
Save it to your Clipboard or NotePad. Now follow these simple steps to install the counter on your website. -
Click Edit This Page, on the page you want to install the counter. (This is normally your Home Page, but you can install it on any other page if you don't want it showing on the Home Page.) -
Click On "Use HTML to create your page". (This is at the bottom of the editing box.) -
Place your cursor where you want the counter to appear. -
Press CTRL-V to paste in the code. -
Return back to the normal editing screen. You may notice that part of the HTML code appears before and after the counter (sometimes it will, sometimes it doesn't). It will say "Begin Counter Code, End Counter Code". You can safely delete all that code out of the editing box. The Counter will still work properly. Just be careful not to delete the counter.
