A place between our dreams.
The house of shattered silence,
the room of whispered screams Therein lies the puzzle
What makes us men or beasts.
What skin we wear retains the balance
As we gather to our feast. A place between the waking
with cold and marbled floors.
The church it has no windows
a sanctum without doors. A whimper and a whisper
dance across a slivered moon
in the dark before the dawning
in the house with no rooms The angels here are fallen
their feathered wings are clipped.
Their glories long forgotten
no voices cross their lips. And in the dark before the dawning
The little boy, he now grows cold.
The darkness he embraces
Another joins the fold. The angels here are fallen

A silence never broken
