ABOUT CAROUSEL PLAZA
Carousel Plaza is basically an undefined area of the park near the Carousel. There are several areas of the park which are sometimes referred to as plazas and are usually named for the ride the area surrounds (such as Rattlesnake Rapids Plaza, The Rocket Plaza, Wild Mouse Plaza, etc.). The Carousel Plaza includes the Carousel, Carousel Theatre and the nearby concession stands. Here is a little more about these features. Click on the name to read more.

CAROUSEL - This antique Carousel was built in 1893 by Herschell-Spillman and still runs smoothly.

CAROUSEL THEATRE - The Flying Saucer and later the Octopus was located here until the stage was built in 1981. The stage was remodeled in 1984 and rebuilt in 1987. Then in 1996 it was rebuilt again and expanded when the show Roc To The Top first opened. The name was changed to Rock U2 The Top in 1998. Other music-oriented shows have also been presented here through the years.

CONCESSIONS - The Haunted Shack was built in this area in 1966. Since 1981, guests have gathered here to choose from a variety of foods or visit the nearby ICEE stand. An outdoor eating area with tables is provided.
