Centennial Screamer
Opened: 1987
Location: South Midway
Manufactured By: Huss Maschinenfabrik
Ride Model: Enterprise
Max Height: 65 feet
Max Speed: Approx. 20 RPM
Wheel Diameter: 56 feet
Hourly Capacity: 1,400 people per hour
Height Requirement: 46" minimum

RIDE EXPERIENCE
Imagine a Ferris wheel on its side. That's basically what the Screamer is like when riders load onto the ride. When the ride begins, the wheel starts spinning causing the cars to swing outward with the centrifugal force. Then the wheel rises to a vertical position and soon returns to its original position.

RIDE HISTORY &INFO
If Lagoon bought this ride in celebration of the park's 100th Anniversary then it opened a year late. Lagoon's centennial year was 1986. It may have been planned to open earlier than it did, but I don't know. Two semi-trailers were used to bring this ride to Lagoon. There was a ride much like this one called UFO which was built on the North Midway in 1982.
