HISTORY & INFO
The Midway has grown a lot over the decades. Here's a timeline of how it came to be the way it is now:

1896 - Lagoon opens with the entrance near the Bamberger Railway on the east side of Lagoon Lake.
1899 - Shoot-The-Chutes, Lagoon's first thrill ride, opens on the west side of Lagoon Lake. (About where Wild Mouse is now.)
1947 - A new entrance is built on the west side of the park.
1952 - Trains stop running & guests now arrive on U.S. Highway 91 (now I-15).
1954 - Patio Gardens (now Game Time) built north of new entrance.
1965 - Original Wild Mouse continues to bring the Midway farther north. (Later replaced by Jet Star 2.)
1974 - Sky Ride stretches the Midway to the rodeo grounds.
1982 - UFO & Musik Express bring the Midway west on the south end to where the Colossus will be built the next year.
1986 - After the rodeo grounds are no longer used, Flying Aces & Flying Carpet are built on part of that area, extending the Midway to its northernmost point so far. (Flying Aces were built where The Rocket is and Flying Carpet where Samurai is.)
1998 - A steel Wild Mouse opens on the South Midway and a new walkway wraps around it. The walkway would eventually be used to access the Cliffhanger (2001) and The Spider (2003).
