1954-1968
Location: North Midway
Notes: If you want to know where the Patio Gardens building was, just walk to Game Time. The same building that stands there now opened in 1954 as Patio Gardens and most likely housed the Penny Arcade. Many concerts took place here. Famous musicians that performed here include Louis Armstrong, Frankie Avalon, Bill Haley & The Comets, Ella Fitzgerald, Johnny Mathis and several others. The Beach Boys played here often and even wrote a song entitled 'Salt Lake City' which included a couple lines about Lagoon. The Rolling Stones came to Lagoon on 23 July 1966. (The Doors also held a concert at Lagoon, but I don't know if it was in this building or the Opera House).
Concerts began to be held in the Opera House when it opened in 1968. In 1969, the Patio Gardens building was modified into a roller skating rink. Dracula's Castle was built into a portion of the building in 1974.

If you know anything about this building or have any photos or memories of it, PLEASE email me at farmingtonstar@hotmail.com.
