Rock-O-Plane
Opened: 1954
Location: South Midway
Manufactured By: Eyerly Aircraft
Max Height: 30 feet
Number Of Cars: 8
Ride Capacity: 16 (2 per car)
Height Requirement: 36" min. 36"-46" must be accompanied by responsible person.

RIDE EXPERIENCE
The Rock-O-Plane is like unto a scaled-down Ferris Wheel with cars that spin forwards, backwards and lock into place - kind of like the Cliffhanger. But these are manually locked and spun by the rider, not a computer like the Cliffhanger. It's a classic ride and still a lot of fun. There's not usually very long lines for this ride, but you may have to wait for quite awhile since it only loads one or two cars at a time.

RIDE HISTORY & INFO
This is one of the oldest rides in the park and still going strong. It's also one of four Eyerly rides added to Lagoon after the Fire Of 1953. The others are Bulgy The Whale in Kiddie Land, the Roll-O-Plane, (which recently broke down and was removed from its spot south of the Rock-O-Plane) and the Loop-O-Plane (a.k.a. The Looper) which has been retired from the North Midway for at least 15 years.

This photo almost looks like it was taken at a completely different park. It's from an early 1970s Lagoon brochure. Because there are no trees behind the ride, you can see the Rockets in back.
