RIDE EXPERIENCE
To explain this ride, I'll use this description by Al Griffin from his book, Step Right Up, Folks:
“The Tilt-A-Whirl’s whip-like circular track adds an undulating motion, and many people vomit when they get off it. For this reason some parks bar kids from such rides if they are thought to be too young."
RIDE HISTORY & INFO
The new Tilt-A-Whirl was built in 1954 where the Sky Coaster is now. It was most likely moved in the late 1980s to its current location. Below is a 1988 photo of the Tilt-A-Whirl. This shows the previous red, white & blue paint scheme. It is now painted in yellow, red & purple. Lagoon's original Tilt-A-Whirl was installed in 1929 and could have very much been taken in the Fire Of 1953. That's my guess since this new one was installed the year after in 1954.
