Introduction: This is the first Yugioh movie to have come out. In the movie Yugi is going to help this boy get over his fear of losing.
It all starts off with this boy named Shogo who buys thee rare card red eyes black dragon. He really doesn't know how to use it because he has never dueled before. He is really scared of losing a duel and losing the red eyes too. Later, Yugi and Joey are dueling in a restaurant and Yugi is also explaining the rules of duel Monsters to miho (I think its tae). Out side of the restaurant some bullies are picking on Shogo and Yugi helps him. Yugi and his friends go out side to help and then Shogo says that he has the red eyes black dragon card.
On the other hand Seto Kaiba is planning to have a tournament. He invited his rivals, other people, and Shogo because he has the red eyes. The next day Joey is mad because he didn't get an invitation to the tournament but then they hear a cry for help. They run to the spot where they heard the cry and realized it was Shogo and a man was pulling on his arm. Joey ask the man what he is doing and he tells Joey that he is working for Seto Kaiba and he is supposed to make everybody who got invited to the tournament come. The man then punches Joey in the stomach and then he turns to Yugi and Yugi tells him that he doesn't want any part of Kaiba's tournament if that is what Kaiba is doing. The man then decides to try to grab Yugi but Joey jumps up and punches him back in the stomach and Yugi and Shogo run. They get trapped in and alley by another henchman and beat up really bad. Joey finds them and finds out that they took Yugi's puzzle and Shogo red eyes. Joey runs after the henchmen and confronts them and they start to fight. Meanwhile, Kaiba is waiting for Yugi and Shogo to arrive. Yugi and Shogo recover and find Joey really beaten up. He got Shogo's red eyes but couldn't get Yugi's puzzle. Shogo says that he won't go to Kaiba's tournament because he is scare of losing. Yugi decides to show Kaiba a lesson
When Yugi gets to Kaiba he gets his puzzle back and turns into Yami Yugi. Joey and Shogo watch Yugi and Kaiba, as they start to battle in this virtual system. Yugi starts winning in the duel until Kaiba draws a blue eyes white dragon. Yugi uses his magical hats to conceal his dark magician and also hides a trap card under one of the other hats. Kaiba attacks one of the hats and reveals the trap card which holds the blue eyes so dark magician can attack. Yugi attacks the blue eyes but Kaiba has 2 more. He then brings the blue eyes back from the graveyard and binds the other two out together on the field. Yugi draws a card and its Shogo's red eyes. Yugi uses his defense monsters but each are blown away by Kaiba's blue eyes white dragons. Kaiba make Yugi's defense monsters become attack monsters. Yugi then merges the red eyes and summoned card and they created black skull dragon, which blast the blue eyes white dragons and Yugi then wins. Yugi and his friends leave and Shogo finally has the courage to duel

Based Upon: This is the first feature length animated movie based upon the popular TV series that has aired on the "Kids WB" programming block of the WB since 2001 (in Japan, the series actually dates back to 1998 ). Warner Bros. is most likely hoping this can be the first of a franchise of 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' movies, similar to their Pokemon series (though they eventually gave up on that series, letting Miramax release the last two films). The TV series (and this movie) is heavily tied into a collectible card game that is the core of the storyline. The Anime TV series was originally based upon a manga (Japanese comic book) called 'Yu-Gi-Oh' which translates into English as something like 'Master of Games.'
Premise: The ancient Egyptians played dangerous "Shadow Games" using cards that could summon forth all varieties of mythological monsters and magical forces to become manifested as pawns in the game. The Shadow Games eventually led to a war that nearly destroyed the entire world until the secrets of the game were locked away in artifacts called the Millennium Items. 5,000 years later, Yugi is a teenager with spiky blonde hair who has unlocked the secrets of the Shadow Game as part of a game called Duel Monsters. Now, Yugi becomes engaged in a new sort of card game challenge... (which is my way of saying that as of 9/19/03, I have no idea what the exact premise of this movie actually is).
Filming: Animated production of this Anime movie started in Japan in the summer of 2003.
