| It had been little more than half a year since I fell in love with the new motion picture by director Peter Jackson. Never thinking the movie would ever be as good as the book, I wasn't too keen on watching the long awaited "The Fellowship of the Ring". I was wrong, I couldn’t believe a fantasy movie could ever enchant me, and there I was, amazed and overwhelmed. Late one afternoon coming home from school, wanting to laze around and enjoy myself, I come onto the internet to search up 'Lord of the Rings'. Always being a person who loved the character of Liv Tyler, Arwen Undomiel, I also looked up for some sites dedicated to this elven beauty. I was quite disappointed that there weren’t too many informative yet interesting sites dedicated to Arwen. There were plenty of LotR sites, some good, some rubbish, but hardly any on this particular character. I came across a MSN Group, 'All Things Lord of the Rings'. I joined it and soon, I realised the manager of that site was a lovely person, and her members welcomed me like I was already one of their own. Then it hit me, creating a site of my own through MSN Groups didn’t seem too overly hard. I clicked on the links and instructions prompting me and the next thing I knew, I had my own site. Without any pages or pictures, but nevertheless, something to call mine. It was the night of November 29th, 2002. Thinking it was all a joke for me to even start a site, I didn’t come back to it for over half a year. I now regret it to this day, for I lost the loyalty of 20 or so members; they hoped I would update and start something wonderful. I never came back until it was too late. Seeing so many members joined a site that was completely blank, I realised the faith they had in me. That encouraged me to finish and complete my first few pages – the Liv Tyler Bio, Arwen Bio, Message Boards and a layout for my What’s New page. I also began to go hunting for pictures on Liv and Arwen, and only uploading the highest quality ones. This is how .:Liv Tyler/Arwen Undomiel:. began and now, I reflect upon it, one and a half years later. 2005 will be a beginning of a new year, and the beginning of the long term semi-hiatus of this site. My education is my top priority, and I cannot afford to see it go down the drain. My site will always remain a passion to me, but my future as a medical student is my love. ~ Angel ~ |
