... or, in English, Hungarians On the Worldwide Web! ... we, that is, the members and management, would like to take this momentous occasion to meet and greet all of the English-reading new members of our group.

THIS IS OUR HOME ON THE INTERNET

Since we think of this website as our "virtual" home, we  promote common etiquette, decency and courtesy among and between our members. We encourage everyone to post a greeting or brief introduction on the message board soon after joining our group. It is not unlike entering someone's home where etiquette dictates that we greet our hosts and other guests. 

FRIENDS WORLDWIDE

More than anything else, we want you to enjoy your visits to our website, and for you not only to find whatever information you are seeking about Hungary, Hungarians, and the unique Hungarian way of life, but also to meet and make many new friends among the native Hungarians who regularly not only visit these pages, but who also add their own personal contributions to the further positive advancement of the group. Also, feel free to befriend the many membes who, like you perhaps, are not Hungarians, but have a deep and abiding interest in, even love for, Hungary.

YOUR INTRODUCTION

Please tell us a little about yourselves, just like you might to a new acquaintance over a cup of coffee. It could result in sharing information which others in the group may have in common with you, and with which they may be able to identify and respond favorably to you in kind.

MESSAGE BOARDS

We encourage everyone to take advantage of the Forum message boards at their own leisure, by either reading the various and interesting articles being posted on them periodically, and/or by adding their own comments, observations, and facts to the topics, or by starting completely new discussions.

YOUR PHOTO

We also encourage members to post one or two recent self-portrait photos so that we can all get more easily and quickly acquainted. It's just a more colorful way of saying, "hi, this is whoI am and what I look like", not unlike when you get out your photo album to share photos with a new acquaintance or friend.

YOUR PARTICIPATION

Naturally, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. We provide the avenue and opportunity for your enjoyment, and it's up to you how much you want to participate, or even whether you want to participate at all. Like in life, however, the more you take an active role in the group, the more you will get out of it. As the saying goes, "You reap what you sow."

To help you begin navigating our website, may I suggest that you browse the category, entitled HUNGARY, under which all of the articles listed are in English. It is an excellent jumping-off point to get acquainted with some of the highlights of this website. From there, you will probably find many other thought-provoking or even amusing items that will catch your attention and interest. Go ahead and enjoy them all! They were created specially with  you in mind!

All of us in the Group want you to have a most pleasant experience everytime you visit, and even make yourselves "at home" here. If you enjoy visiting this website, then it would be beneficial to invite your friends and acquaintances to join the group too, and ask them to participate with you in its many captivating facets. If I enjoy something, naturally I want to share it with my friends, and I am sure that you are probably as considerate of your friends as I am of mine.
