Major General Nix, center above, has kindly accepted the position of military advisor to this site. He'll answer any questions of a military nature that you have, and, he'll also ask some questions of you. This ought to be great fun and a chance to get some serious answers from a retired military professional. Here is his first question to you. You can post your answer on the message board as well as send it directly to MG Nix.

# 1. You are in a formation at an AT EASE position and are going to be inspected by the Commander. You are Called to Attention and notice the trooper in front of you has both back pockets unbuttoned. Do you reach over and tell him or do you do nothing as you are at attention?

#2
You are driving General Massena in a Military Vehicle: What is the first thing as his driver do you do?

I.   Just before he gets in the auto, you do what?

2.  What is the next thing you do?

3.  You take him to where ever he wants to go. You do what at this point?

4.  After he gets out and leaves you to go back to the Motor Pool, you do
     what before you leave?

Big Jim Thornton tried his hand at both these questions. Here is MG Nix's grade for Jim: Close but no cigar.

Try this one on.

You are shooting dice in the motor pool or where ever, and just as you start to let them go, a voice is heard from everyone saying, "I'm in for a $100.00". You turn and look and there you see BG Massengale, your Commander. Could this be a trick and MP's are waiting in the wings, or do you throw the dice. CRAPS, and you now owe the Commander $100.00.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE AND "OH MY GOSH, WHAT DO I DO?" EASY QUESTION? I DON'T THINK SO.

Sgt Thornton gets a 99.99% on this question You only got  this one thing wrong. You do come attention, but you issue the Command AT EASE. Check your web-site

Answer to question #4.

First of all, shooting dice are any form of gambling is against Military Regulation on Military property. The type of punishment is up to BG Massengale. He can give you an Article 15, House Arrest, (or both) Summery Court Martial, or Company Punishment doing all types of jobs no one else does.

Now when you realize the voice you heard was BG Massengale's, for God and your sake, DON'T SHOOT THE DICE. Come to ATTENTION and give the COMMAND, AT EASE. No salute necessary. Don't try to tell him you were cleaning the Motor Pool floor. More than likely BG Massengale will just give you a Company punishment, but then again he may throw the book at you. Answer him honestly as he already knows what you were doing.

So you see, The "I'll take a hundred of that" was just to announce his presence. You are a dead duck and all that are playing and watching. If there is some one that outranks all of the players, he is in more trouble than the players as he should have stopped the game.
