Sailing Texas - Sailing Texas is a great place to find a used boat. Also has a ton of other content.

Alacrity Sailboat Group - A personal favorite - not sure how it might work on the gulf, with no tide to speak of.
Duckworks Magazine - Great resource for parts, plans, reading etc
Expert or Easy GPS - Expert GPS (30 day free trial - no credit card) brings up aerial photos, usgs topo maps and you can index a scanned map (tiff) to the screen - or Easy GPS (free) which just shows waypoints, routes, tracks and so forth, both work with the gpx file for the Magnolia Messabout: http://www.expertgps.com or http://easygps.com/

OziExplorer - OK - this is an even better GPS mapping programthan ExpertGPS. Though EasyGPS cannot be beat for price

PDRacers - The pdracer main site. The last race at Magnolia took place in 2006. 2007 had too much wind for anyone to even try, if you had you would have liekly been blown across the bay, although a number of larger boats reefed down and did just fine, Nonetheless it is feasable to do the. Might take an adventourous soul. There is a start at 7 pm Friday and one at 7 pm Saturday.at Magnolia Beach. This may be an opportunity to try the double pdracer concept for a cat ketch..
