Sometimes my PSP dies and shuts down.....
IF you have it set to auto save..... PSP saves your work as you work. You won't have to save it often or have to worry about it.
It saves undo temp files..... and designating where they are saved will make an easy access for you to check now and then to delete the ones PSP misses.
So lets set it up. READY?
- ON your DESKTOP right click and choose/New/Folder name it PSP TEMPS (you can put this folder where you want to...... but remember where it is, My Documents, where ever you desire)
- Open PSP
- Click File/Preferences/AutoSave Settings
- Check mark Enable Auto Save
- Set Minutes to 5 (if this seems to be to often for you come and make it more. It will automatically save your work every five minutes.)
- Click OK
- Click File/Preferences/File Locations
- Click Undo/Temporary Files tab at the top.
- Click Browse Button
- Locate your PSP TEMPS folder and click it.
- Click OK
- Open the image, or canvas or whatever it is your working on.
- Click File/Save As/Choose .psp format and save it in your PSP TEMP folder.
- Close the program so that the Auto Save will be part of PSP's preference setup.
It is now ready to save your work each time you use it. From now on just follow numbers 12 & 13 and PSP will do the rest.
Now if PSP stops working and shuts down...... when you reopen it.... it will reopen all the canvases with the last one it auto saved onto your work space ready for you to begin again.
When you are completely finished with this image and saved it in your jpg or gif format.... AFTER CLOSING PSP ...You can go and delete it from your PSP TEMP folder if you desire..... and any left over und files.
I keep PSP templates I have made in my PSP TEMP folder as .psp format..... I can edit them easily and PSP format retains all layers, transparency etc etc. Sometimes I burn the folder when it gets full onto a CD so I can keep them...... then delete the ones I don't use often anymore.
THIS IS MY SETUP..... HOPE IT HELPS...... Can
