There is proof that the Sumerians,not simply those of the Bible,knew that
mankind spoke one language at one time.One of the clay tablets discovered

in Sumeria proclaims this.
Once there was no snake,there were no scorpians.
There was no Hyena,there was no lion.
There was no wild dog,there was no wolf.
There was no fear,there was no terror.
Man had no rival.
In those days,the Subur and Hamazi,harmony tongued Sumer,
the great land of the degrees of princeship,Uri,the land having
all that is appropriate.
The land Martu,resting in security.
The whole universe,the people in unison.
To Enlil in one tongue.
The A-da the Lord,a-da the prince,a-da the king.
Enki a-da the Lord,a-da the prince,a-da the King.
Enki the Lord of abundance whose commands are trustworthy.
The Lord of wisdom who understands the laws.
The leader of the gods,endowed with wisdom,the Lord of Eridu.
Changed the speech in their mouths.
Brought contention into it.
Into the speech of man that had been one.

The Biblical chronology places the founding of Babylon around 2250 bce.
A collection of star charts,discovered by Alexander the Great,places the
founding of Babylon 1,903 years earlier than the conquest of Alexander,
or in the year 2234 b.c.That year also helps to establish the life of Peleg,
which is the period of time that the Tower of Babel was destroyed,and thus
the division of languages.
