KFCI World Championship Tournament Report From: KFCI, U.S. Ops., Headquarters, Norfolk, Va. By: Mike Lewis Date: 30 June 2008 The Six Annual Karate for Christ International World Championship Tournament held in Pigeon Forge, TN. this weekend (06/28/08) was once again a success. Jim Carpenter-sensei and his wonderful staff did another great job as always. Thanks Jim for all you do for ministry and KFCI. Let me tell you, what a wonderful time of fellowship we had this weekend. There where many participants from all over the United States ranging in ages from 4 yrs of age, right up to us guys of 50 + young. It was good to meet some new KFCI certified Instructors, their family, and students. It was a true pleasure to meet and fellowship with you. For those who could not be with us this weekend, you missed a true treat indeed. I'm not talking about the tournament, but rather, who showed up at this years tournament. I'm talking about non other than the original Founding Head (Shodai SOKE) of Karate for Christ, the man himself . . . Mr. Mike Crain. That's right!!! Mike Crain was there and let me say, it was a real pleasure for me to meet and shake the hand of the TRUE original founder of Karate for Christ and humble man. Upon coming in, Mr. Crain didn't just walk around with his hands in his pocket. No sir, he came in and went to work as a judge at one of the rings along with his brother. During a break, Mr. Crain pulled Mike Rhodes off to the side and had a long talk about ARM's and his (Mike Rhodes) soon departure from State side to join Daryl. This to me showed how concerned he is about what KFCI and ARM's is doing to reach the people of Asia with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he (Mike Crain) is planning something big help. I can't say a lot about it at this time because, I don't know all the ends and outs myself, but I do know its going to be BIG!!!! So start putting some money away now. More info on this event to come. And of course, I must thank the faithful few. Mike Rhodes, Barry Bandy, and David Price. These three guy's make up the "Faithful Few" of KFCI who are always there. Thank you guy's so much for all you do in KFCI and being there in times of great need. Blessings, -Mike Lewis KFCI, U.S. Operations Headquarters, Norfolk Virginia. KFCI WEBSITE NEWS: From: Dr. D.R. Covington, KFCI President.
By the end of July, we will have the KFCI site up and functioning. PLEASE, keep this in your prayers... and be patient... The current site has had so many people work on it in various programs that it is almost unfunctional at this time. Also remember, when the new site starts, only certified schools will appear. All will still get the newletter, but we spend the majority of our time updating information on schools that we don't even know the instructors for. This will change in July, and the KFCI site will exist to serve our certified schools that are serving our Lord. We pray that ALL will get certified soon. Locate a KFCI school near you.
