At age 9 he appeared on stage with Diana Ross, by 14 he was the youngest professional music producer and by 20 he was a record label CEO.   Later that year Dupri founded So So Def Records. The label turned out Dupri discoveries like Xscape and Da Brat, both of whose debut albums went platinum. In the next few years he also produced efforts from such heavy hitters as Dru Hill, TLC, Usher and Mariah Carey.
