The Glasgow-Barren County area is growing and expanding. It is located in a prime tourist and industrial development area.

The population of Glasgow is approximately 15, 000 people with a county population of approximately 40,000 people.

The largest employer is RR Donnelly Corporation with over 40 other manufacturing plants located within Barren County. Barren County is among the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s second largest agricultural producing areas.

The area offers major recreational opportunities with Barren River Lake and Barren River Lake State Park, Mammoth Cave National Park, the Museum of the Barrens, Horse Cave Regional Theatre, the YMCA, and many fine golf courses, tennis facilities, etc. within a few minutes drive.

The internationally acclaimed Glasgow Highland Games are held annually on the week-end after Memorial Day where the 2001 World Scottish Games was held in Glasgow and hosted by the Glasgow Highland Games.

Glasgow is blessed with a major regional hospital and specialists in most fields of medicine. Glasgow/ Barren County has 3 public school systems and Western Kentucky University has a campus locally. This growing area provides ample employment opportunities
