Self Initiation Ritual
Preparation:
The following tools should be on the altar: sword, athame, white-hilted knife, insense censer, scourge, wand, pentacle, chalice of wine, ritual cords, candles, bowl with water, salt bowl, pendant.
The Initiate should first consecrate the water and salt. She then should cast the Circle, with anyone present inside it. She then carries the water deosil around the circle, sprinkling anyone present and then herself. After this, she should carry around the censer, candle, and summon the Lords of the Watchtower.
If she has a partner present, she or he should give the Initiate of the Fivefold Kiss.
The Initiate should the face the altar and raise her arms, saying:
"I invoke thee and call upon thee, Mighty Mother of us all, bring of all fruitfulness; by seed and by root, by stem and by bud, by leaf and flower and fruit do I invoke thee to bless this rite, and to admit this humble postulant into the company of thy great hidden children."
She then should turn her back tro the altar and recite the Charge, speaking to herself, not as herself:
Then, she turns around to face the altar once more with her arms above her head, making the "Horned God" salute (first and little finger straight, with the other finger curled into the palm) and chant three times:
"Eko Eko Azarack, Eko Eko Zamilak, Eko Eko Cenunnos, Eko Eko Aradia."
The Initiate then kneels in the center of the Circle, facing the altar. Any others in the room should sit behind her. She says, in a low voice:
"Gentle Goddess and Powerful God, I am your youngest child. My life comes from your breath. My voice is your voice, as it is with all your creatures. I kneel humbly before you in your Magick Circle, the gateway between the pleasant realm of men and the dominions of the Mighty Ones, to open my heart and soul to you and so receive your blessing."
The Initiate should then meditate on the God and Goddess until she feels that it is a time to stop. All others present should also meditate on the God and Goddess, and should visualize a sphere of white light with its boundary at the edge of the Circle. The Initiate should glow faintly with this light.
The Initiate then rises, going to each of the quarters, saying:
"Take heed, ye Lords of the East (South, North, West), that I, {name}, am properly prepared to become a Witch."
The Initiate returns to the altar, placing her right hand on the athame and her left hand on her heart. She declares her Oath:
"I, {name}, in the presence of the Mighty Ones, do of my own free will and accord most solemnly swear that I will always keep secret and nerve reveal those secrets of the Craft which shall be entrusted to me, except be it to a proper audience, properly prepared within a Circle such as I am now in, and that I will never deny the secrets to such a person if he or she be properly vouched for by a brother or sister of the Art. All this I swear by my hopes of a furure life, and may my weapons turn against me if I break this solemn oath."
She bows to the altar and picks up the anointing oil with her left hand. She dips the tip of her right finger in the oil and says:
"I hereby sign myself with the Triple Sign. I consecrate myself with oil."
She should touch herself with oil on the abdomen, on her right chest, her left chest, and on the abdomen once more. This is the inverted Triangle of the First Degree.
The initiate repeats this with wine, saying:
"I anoint myself with wine."
She then kisses her right fingertip, saying:
"I anoint myself with a kiss."
.....and then repeats, saying:
"priestess and witch."
The witch now picks up each of the working tools from the altar, kissing each one before she replaces it.
"Now I take up the Working Tools."
"First, the Magick Sword. With this, as with the Athame, I can form all magick circles, dominate, subdue and punish all rebellious spirits and demons, and even persuade angels and good spirits. With this in my hand, I am the ruler of the Circle."
"Next, the Anthame. This is the true witch's weapon, and has all the power of the Magic Sword."
"Next, the White-Hilted Knife. Its use is to form all instruments used in the Art. It can only be used in the Magic Circle."
"Next, the Wand. Its use is to call up and control certain angels and genil to whom it would not be proper to use the Magic Sword."
"Next, the Cup. This is the vessel of the Goddess, the Cauldron of Cerridwyn, the Holy Grail of Immortality. From this, sisters and brothers of the Art drink in comradeship, and in honor of the Goddess."
"Next, the Pentacle. This is for the purpose of calling up appropriate spirits."
"Next, I take up the Censer of Incense. This is to encourage and welcome good spirits and to banish evil spirits."
"Next, the Scourge. This is the sign of power and domination. It is also used to cause purification and enlightenment. It is written that to learn one must suffer and be purified."
"Last, I take up the Cords. They are of use to bind the sigils of the Art."
The witch now takes up the pendant and puts it around her neck, saying:
"With the necklace, with is the Circle of Rebirth, I seal my commitment to the Craft."
The new witch now goes to each of the quarters, in turn, and with her arms raised, she says:
"Hear ye, Mighty Ones of the East (South, North, West), that I, {name}, have been duly consecrated priestess, witch, and hidden cild of the Goddess."
"So Mote it Be."
The Initiate has now become Witch, and due to the solidarity of her practice, she is now Priestess in the sense of self.
