Guardians
From Webster's Unabridged Dictionary: Guardian: Protector, Defender, Custodian, Person or other agent who has the charge of a person and protects a person or thing.
To start at the very core of the essence of the topic, a Guardian is just that. They protect.
To many, the very mention of the word Guardian brings up the image and concept of many things, mystical, magical and powerful.
A Guardian can be male or female, Christian or Pagan.
There are Guardians that work in small ways, protecting only a few select people, or certain areas, taking care of the day to day things that need to be done.
Then there are those that work on larger scales. An area, confined within boundaries or not, or a group of people can constitute a Guardian's 'territory'.
The key element of the Guardian is one thing: The call, the pull, the need to HELP! Though this is not always a choice for some...
Many may think that a Guardian is a choice. In some ways it is, in many other's it just IS. If offered a choice, several of those that I know of with the Guardian calling would walk away. It is not always that easy, however.
Within my own personal experience, usually once I am aware of a problem, I work, either on my own or with help, to do what must be done to resolve the situation.
Guardian in and of itself does not begin nor end the description of those that are called or even Gifted with the strengths and abilities of a Guardian.
In my experience, I have personally known of Warrior Guardians, using strengths and Gifts in agressive ways to deal with the crisis at hand. I have known and worked with Seer Guardians, who use the insight granted them to KNOW just what it is that needs to be done. The Healer Guardian would use the compassion and caring and strength of that to weild the tools that needs to be used to bring a solution to hand.
A Guardian does not always act agressively, ONLY when the situation calls for nothing else.
Under construction, more to come.........
