The Celtic (Pagan and Wiccan)calendar acknowledges Eight Sabbats of  Holy days.The Druids referred to this yearly cycle as the "Wheel  of the seasons".During this time,we undergo 13 Full Moon phases,one every  28 1/4 days.Each Full Moon has a traditional title and eight moons may accompany a Sabbat.

There are four main stages that occur during the moon cycle.Each phase plays a separate part in the abilities of a Witch and her Magickal  abilities.  Just as the lunar cycles pull at the oceans and seas of Earth-So they pull on  the containers which house our beings-our bodies.

 

MOON STAGE-Waxing Moon

     

USES-Fertility Magick,,health,magick,planting herbs,beginnings

 

 EXPLANATIONS-The waxing moon goes from black(new) to full .As the moon grows,she will excerpt a magnetic pull on all things-strengthening energies

     

MOON STAGE-Waning Moon

 

USES-Undoing magick,banishing,receeding,separations and eliminations, best time to cut herbs and flowers.

     

EXPLANATIONS-The waning moon is from full to black(new).This is the time for ending relations with unwated partners or situations.This is a time for hte inward journey of self,preparing for rebirth

       

MOON STAGE- Full Moon

 

USES-High tide of psychic powers,helpful in all types of magick.

 

EXPLANATIONS-This a powerful time where energy is in an abundance.Magickal rites are amplified as energy is in its zenith.Full moon magick works best in a seven day cycle-three prior,the night of and three after

       

MOON STAGE-Black(New)Moon

           

USES-No magick should be performed!

     

EXPLANATIONS-This is a witches sunday of rest if you will.We respect the moon cycle and the power she instills by resting on the Black Moon
