CLEANSING GEMS AND STONES 

As your chalice or athame is a tool of magick, so too are gems and stones.  And with all tools, they need to be cleansed of past association and lingering vibrations.  Here is a method that I have found to be effective.  Can be use for one or more stones.

1)  Fill a non metallic bowl with warm spring water and add a healthy dose of sea salt.  Using your index finger stir the mixture an add your stones.  Stir the mixture and stones and leave them undisturbed over night.  Remove the stones from the mixture, and cleanse with spring water  to remove any remnants of salt.  Place the stones to dry and charge in the sun, removing them at night for 3 days.

NOTE:  Tap water that has been boiled and cooled can substitute for springwater and regular salt can be used in place of sea salt.

         HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU CLEANSE YOUR STONES?

This depends on how often you are using your stones.  Perhaps you have been using a bloodstone every day for a week for health purposes.  Your stone will no doubt be in need of cleansing and charging.

Many, like myself, keep certain stones or geodes around the home or perhaps office for various reasons.  I tend to cleanse and charge them about every 1 to 2 months.
