A magick circle is a place of protection.  It is also a place to do magick in, a place to raise and store magickal energies in.
Within a circle there are no boundries, no time but all time and a circle is a place for the astral to cross with the psysical.
I will now show u how to cast a circle.  This is of no religion to be exact just a general circle casting but it is only for the southern hemisphere i will explain the difference latter.
 
First with an athamee or wand or sword or power hand or even a feather point out to the ground and turn anti-clockwise.  As doing this imagine white flames coming out or blue flames to form a circle.
As doing this say:
I create this circle of magick
as a place of protection and power.
Now when u have gone around the circle 3 times pound the starting place of the circle with your hand or staff and imagine from the flames a blue or white light creating a sphere which your inside of then say:
This circle is bound and blessed
so mote it be.
 
Now you must call the elements into the circle.

This can be done in a number of ways but here is a simple easy way for all you begginners.

Face the south and say:
"I call to salamanders, guardians of the south and fire to join my circle and give me protection."

Imagine little reptilian creatures surrounded by flames coming into the circle.

Then Face the west and say:
"I call to undines, guardians of west and water to join me in my circle and give me protection."

Imagine mermaids and mermen surrounded by water swimming into the circle.

Then face the north and say:
"I call to Gnomes, guardians of the north and earth to join me in my circle and give me protection."

Imagine little men with gardening tools coming out of holes in the ground and coming into your circle, see the brown earth that surrounds them.

Then face the south and say:
"I call to Slyphs, guardians of east and air to join me in my circle and give me protection."

Imagine faerie like beings flying into your circle with wind swishing around them.

Now you must call to the goddess and the god.

First sit down facing any direction that feels comfortable, i suggest north, east or west for beginners.
Say: "I call to the fair lady devine to protect her child within this circle"
Imagine a lady standing behind you watching you peacefully.
Say: "I call the the strong lord eternal to protect his son/daughter within this circle"
Now see a man next to the lady also watching you.

Now say:
"This circle is bound and blessed with protection from friends so mote it be."

You should take note of what each of the beings you called into the circle look like, these beings can be seen through your mind's eye or your imagination.
Many magickal beings visit you through your imagination like dragons and faeries when you were a child.

This is the time were you do your spell or ritual.  You may like just to dance or sing or raise energie however you like.  This can be a very cleansing activity.

Once you have finished your ritual, spell or what ever it is time to close the circle.

This is easly done.
In the reverse order that you called to the beings you will now say goodbye.
Just by saying this to the god, goddess and each elemental guardian and slotting in there name at the blank as you imagine them leaving is a way to say goodbye to all that helped you.
"(insert name here),
merry meet,
merry part,
and merry meet again,
farwell."

You may like to repeat this one more time and use the term: "any beings left within this circle."

Now in a clockwise direction suck back the flames into your athame/power finger as saying:
"This circle is open but unbroken"

Your circle is always within you.
There is no real time within a circle and power from a future or past circle you have cast may be called upon.
Realese the power from your finger or athame by hitting the ground with the athame handle or your fist and imagine all the energie flowing into the ground and air, out into the universe.

This whole process is able to be done in your head but that is for advanced people i even have troube doing it in my head that is what the words are there for to help you create the circle.
