The time passed so quickly, and our child grew before our eyes. Everything was perfect, during the day I stayed with her, teaching her the importance of nature and life. When the night washed over us, my soul returned and we would lay together, a family.
The night of a full moon had arrived, the wind howled furiously as the rain pushed against the weakening ground. I laid awake, clutching to the warmth, my skin turned to ice as I heard the familiar sound of a wolf pack, howling to eachother the message of a meal.
The sound was so close now, I could almost smell the dampness of their fur and the warm breath of death coming from their jaws. My hands found the back of my neck, where the marks still were from the day of the past. The she wolf had puppies, and now they have come for revenge.
My body convulsed with fear, wakening my family. No words were spoken, we both knew what had happened and what will happen. I grabbed my angel and we ran towards the back of the cave, climbing onto a high ledge, only just making it by the time they entered our home.
There was five of them, the leader pure black, like the bringer of death. I pushed myself against the wall, we had to kill them, or we would be killed. He jumped down off the ledge, his powerful claws swiping at the pack. He was protecting me once again. He backed them into the cave wall, growling with anger and fear for us. None of us saw the other half of the pack. They came into the cave at that instance and jumped on him from behind. They tore at his flesh, forcing a red river from his body.
I ran from there, into the raining night, hearing his bloodcurling screams of pain behind me. Then it was all quiet....
Looking down at the bundle in my arms, her dark hair now covering her entire body, I knew that he was gone and that I had to keep her safe. I kept on running, until I came to a familiar place, I saw the marking in the oak tree, and the sunken ground where my grandfather's grave lay.
I could sense that they were right behind me, so I took my child, kissed her sweet head and put her onto the trunk of the oak, allowing her to climb into its safe branches. The feasting would not end with her. I ran on further into the woods, but they kept on following, coming closer with every step they took.
I knew I couldn't get away. I stopped and turned and there they were, faces covered in his blood. I hated them so much. I ran at the leader, ripping at her skin with my hands, hatred racing through my veins.
