Season Two

Episode 22 "we'll meet again" Hope is afraid her house has Radon, and in the process of testing it, finds a trunk in the basement filled with the memories of a woman who had lived in the house during World War II. Hope reads her journals and in the process discusses with Michael whether or not to have another baby.
Episode 23 "in re: the marriage of weston" The Westons are in mediation, as the reality of their marriage ending comes nearer. Each is caught up in their new lives, but thinks and fantacizes about their relationship when they met and fell in love.
Episode 24 "the mike van dyke show" It's time to put a headstone on Michael's father's grave, and Hope and Michael are again dealing with the issue of Christmas. Filled with comedic fantasies of the old sitcom The Mike Van Dyke show, it is TS at its best. Hope gets in a car accident and they learn she is pregnant again.
Episode 25 "trust me" Melissa and Gary are both tired of the dating scene and discuss whether or not to have a baby together as friends. Gary decides to do volunteer work for The Race Street Project, where he meets Susannah Hart.
Episode 26 "no promises" Ellyn is clearly shattered when her parents tell her of their decision to get a divorce, forcing her to question her relationship with Woodman.
Episode 27 "politics" Filled with Vietnam demonstration flashbacks, Michael and Elliot take on a once radical friend of Michael's as a client. Gary and Hope see Michael as selling out.
Episode 28 "success" Melissa gets the call to do an album cover for singer Carly Simon. Just as she is coming into her own, Michael and Elliot lose a big account and face the fact they will have to go out of business.
Episode 29 "first day/last day" The Michael and Elliot Company folds, as does the friendship of its owners. Tempers flare as the two decide to desolve and move on. Each is caught up in the memories of how they met and decided to go into business for themselves.
Episode 30 "about last night" Gary and Susannah are together. Susannah unexpectedly finds out she is pregnant, and decides to have an abortion. Later she changes her mind and decides to have the baby.
Episode 31 "elliot's dad" Elliot is struggling with his own relationship with his kids since the separation, when his father Charlie Weston comes to Philadelphia. Elliot makes some discoveries about his father and himself as a father when Ethan has an accident with a dangerous toy.
Episode 32 "payment due" The closer Woodman wants to get to Ellyn the more determined she seems to test him. She develops a dangerous ulcer, after having an affair, and Steve leaving her.
Episode 33 "deliverance" The women decide to go camping. Ellyn hates camping, and Melissa thinks she is the master. Hope tells Nancy about Elliot's affair with Cheryl Eastman. Michael and Elliot meanwhile are watching the kids and trying to do some freelance work together.
Episode 34 "michael writes a story" We see Michael doing some fantacizing about Nancy when he takes a writing class with her. Nancy is dating Matt the Wrench King, and doing well. Michael is struggling with a possible job at D.A.A. working for Miles Drentell, whom he despises.
Episode 35 "new job" Hope miscarries the baby on the first day Michael and Elliot begin work at D.A.A. Each handles their loss differently and apart before coming together in the end.
Episode 36 "be a good girl" Melissa's grandma Rose is turning 80, and is not in good health. Melissa helps her grandmother at her outdated clothing store, while trying to help her mother decide what to do about Grandma Rose.
Episode 37 "courting nancy" Just when Nancy starts to make it well on her own, Elliot is deciding he wants her back. In a romantic display of competition, Elliot does everything he can to woo her back and away from the impending Matt the Wrench King.
Episode 38 "best of enemies" Susannah's pregnancy becomes complicated, and she is on bedrest. Gary asks Hope to write a piece about The Race Street Project to bring on public awareness of their cause. In the process Hope finds out that they write shakie grant applications and wants to include this in her piece. She and Gary quarrel, but in the end she and Susannah become friends.
