Add a Poll to your Site

There are lots of sites to get polls from but this one is easy and has no "surprises"  http://www.alxnet.com/

  1. Click "Create A Poll"

  2. Fill out the required information - dont forget to create a new page to hold the link for the poll and copy that to the spot on the form.

  3. In 'Homepage URL' spot, type or copy in the URL that you want the user to return to after using the poll (can be your Home Page or the page the link to the poll was on).

  4. There are various options for formatting and designing the poll - choose the ones you want and fill in the necessary information (name the poll, ask a question, supply answers, change background color, text color, header colors, etc.)

  5. Upon completion, you will be given the option of copying the code or the link to your poll.  Copying the link to the created poll is simpler and will keep the poll at the poll supplier's server instead of eating up your 30 mbs of space on your passport.  Note the link to the poll as you must use this to change the poll in the future.

  6. If you want to host the poll on a real web page in your Documents folder, then copy the code for the poll rather than the link.  Place it into a text-only document.  Save.  Then save it again, changing the .txt file extension to .htm and then upload it to your Documents.  Right click on the page name in the Documents list.  Select "copy shortcut" and place that link as noted in step 7.

  7. Insert the code for the link to the poll into a button, gif, animation, etc. for your members to click to go to the poll.
