| Add Hotspots with text labels into your graphics to link to other pages | Click the eagle and the elk above to see hotspots in action. Look for the little white hand and text label to appear, and click to see the link! How to make it work on MSN: -
Post your graphic to Documents or Photo Album. -
Paste the graphic from the web location into your FP 2000 page. -
If this does not show when opened in the browser while you are building the page, load the graphic from within your PC web and then change the image source to the web-based version when you are done. -
Use the hotspot tools (polygon, circle or rectangle) to create the hotspot(s) over the area of the graphic where you want it to go. The dialogue box for inserting the link will appear - type or paste in the URL you want to link to. -
Save the page and test the link(s) and look of the polygon. Edit as required and resave. -
Complete the rest of the contents of the page and save. Do a final test. To include mouseover text labels: -
in the HTML view, find the hotspot shape (e.g. CIRCLE, RECT) -
insert a space after the shape tag and add in: alt="your text"
To Upload to the Documents: -
To insert into an MSN-provided page: -
See the Using FP2000 to create content for MSN-provided pages tutorial. -
If you need to do extensive editing on the page in the future, copy it to your FP program and do it there, and republish it. Instructions are in Editing an Existing MSN-provided Page and Using FP to Create Content for MSN-Provided Pages tutorials. ©Auntie Canuck Web Design November 9, 2001 Updated: May 23, 2003
