Casting in the River.

Before doing any visualizations or reading, please calm your thoughts and take a minute to focus. Allow all pressing thoughts to slip backward, and allow your mind the freedom of ten minutes to read this in peace, undisturbed.

A Visualization to release pain or stress.

Waiting til just before sun set, waiting, slowing your mind and your breathing. Focusing on what you wish to achieve. Peace, calm centered thoughts. Breathing in slowly, being mindful of all surrounding you. The softening of the sky line over the house tops. Aware and pleased by the gentle tug of the wind on your hair, tickling sensations of the hairs caressing your cheek. Watching the fading sun light, tipping your face to the soft glow, and sighing as you wiggle your toes in the path's warm moist soil. Bare foot, walking down the garden path, hearing the soft hushed tones of the forest creatures as you enter their domain. The moist fresh scent of leaves and soil mingle, floating in the air, as you walk the path, taking you in deeper, winding slowly , downward toward the river. Walking in the shadows, aware of all that is around you, you are apart yet part of all you see. You feel the connection of your feet to the well trodden -path, you smell and breath deeply of the new night air, creeping in slowly, swirlin softly around you , you feel the evening dew kiss your skin as you pass lower toward the waiting river. You watch relaxed as you see little last dapples of fading sun light breaking thru the tree cover, and you smile. You feel the serenity , the oneness of this journey, the need to do this, the resolve to allow all things to flow as they must, and a certainty of what must be.

Dipping your head a little ,you pass under a low hanging pine tree bough, lifting it slowly you feel the sensations of the pine needles on your hand, the scratchy tickle of awareness of this sacred space and the tangy scent lingering as you pass under it into the hidden cove, down by the river.

Standing on the bank, you breath in deeply, looking around, taking in all things. The hustle of the flowing river, the soft gurgles, the splashes, the rush of waves tumbling over obstacles. You feel the night moving, shifting closer, you feel safe, wrapped in twilight as you gaze at the moving water. You smell it, you sense it, you feel it, The energy of the river as it moves, always flowing, over or thru all obstacles. Never stopping but adjusting itself, accomodating to the flow . shrinking where needed, you see between boulders, or spreading outward in level areas. the same river flows onward, ever mindful and aware of the obstacles in its path but allowing itself the freedom to overcome them by shifting its self, its way , to achieve what it must, to always flow.

Standing on the river's edge, leaning on an old timber railing, you relax, taking in all sensations, allowing all thoughts to center here in this one spot, safe and protected at sunset. Here you feel peace, here you feel freedom. Freedom that is needed to release energy. To release your stress, to release your worries or pain.

As the river carries debris , so its power can be used to carry away our stresses, our fears, our pains.

Centering slowly, feeling the connection, the oneness of this one spot, the connection to the earth, the sun as it sets, the water as it flows, the air, the teasing wind that rustles the leaves, you feel the oneness of this spot. Slowly you relax, slowly you release old energy, allow your mind to focus on the tumbling rushing waters. Allow your thoughts to bring forth that energy which you wish to rid your self of, allow it to surface.

Whether it is pain, fear, or stress, allow it to surface, be honest with yourself and the river, tell it in your thoughts or out loud, that which you wish it to carry away, As the water flows up , over or around all obstacles, so can you, your energy can flow as the river flows. Cast off all unwanted feelings, old loves, all disappointments, old pains. All things out grown and worn, Allow the gentle but strong racing river to carry it away. Focus your energy into the waves, visualize your worry or stress floating freely on the waves, watch as your energy is poured into the river, watch as the river takes it away.

Know you are connected. Know you are centered and know the river with its persuasive energy, will carry away yours. Allow your mind to push all unwanted feelings or angers outward , allow the river to absorb it, watch as you see the colors shift then meld as the water, in its conforming way, shifts then tumbles farther, always flowing. Watch as your worries, bouyed like a small leaf on a wave, disappear, floating around the bend. Allow your self to release this energy to the river. Feel the stretch, the tug ,then the snap of release as it flows. Know this is right. Know now is the time. Know this is the best way, allow the water to carry it away. Know the oneness of this, as you allow the universe in its own way, using this river, to help you. Know you are protected and guided. Know this is your time of freedom. Watch as the worries float away, carried by a soft yielding force. And recognize we all should be like the river. Yielding when we must, pushing when we need to, rising above or dipping briefly under, but always forever flowing onward. When the last of your worries have passed beyond the riverbend , smile, knowing the river has helped, that the river has carried it beyond your reactions to it. Know you have sent it outward to the universe to deal with. Know the freedom of this, and thank the One. Slowly pull back, breathing deeply, refreshed. Know it is done. With that knowledge, walk the path back.
