A vision quest is a ritual designed to help you most past you own personal barriers and receive any messages the spirits are trying to send.  It is a period of isolation in which one seeks a revelation that will give meaning to one's life in the future.It leads to maturity and understanding of ourselves, our environment ,our society

 

Preparation:

Be in top physical condition free of stress

Physchologically sound.

Capable of fasting

Be able to camp out

Know basic first aid including cpr

be comfortable with solitude

 

Ritual: A sacred circle of stone is placed on the ground. You are to remain in the circle for a certain period of time usually 48 hours is the average length. Sometimes a helper is assigned to check on the persona nd possibly bring supplies if the seeker has gone into a deep trance and is rendered uncapable of taking care of onesself temporarily.  Certain aids may be given in order to enduce a trance these may include peyote or mushrooms, woad,or other psychic vision enhancing type teas or elixirs.

 

The whole purpose is to seek that which we are not normally able to see. to connect with our other selves and to gather knowledge that was before unavailable. Some vision quests cure illness, heal a sick body.They can give you confidence if you are lacking.
