| Basic Principles of Witches. What Witches Believe We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces. We recognize that our intelligence gives u s an unique responsibilty toward our enviorment. We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than is apparent to the average person. We concieve of the Creative Power in the universe as both masculine and femine. We value neither gender above the other. We recognize both outer worlds and inner, psycological worlds, we see in the interaction of these two deminsions the basis for paranormal and magickal exercises. We do not recognize any Authoritarian Heirarchy. We see religion, magick, and wisdom-in-living as being united in the way one views thw world and lives in it. Calling onesself a "witch" does not make a witch, but neither does heredity it self, or the collecting iof titles, degrees and initiations. A witch seeks to control the forces with in him- or her self that make life possible in order to live wisely and well, with out harm to others, and in Harmony with nature. we acknowledge that it is the affirmation and fullfilment of life, in a continuation of evolution and development of consciousness, that gives meaning to the universe we know, and to our personal role in it. Our only animosity toward christianity, or toward any other religion or philosophy of life, is that it institutions have claimed to be " the one true, right, and only way" and have sought to deny freedom to others and to supress other ways of religious practices and beliefs. WE are not threathened by debates on the history of the craft. We are concerned with our present and our future. We do not accpet the concept of absolute evil, nor do we worship any entity known as "Satan" or the "Devil", as defined by the christain traditions. We work within nature for that which cintributes to oue health and well being. Basically, wiccan Witches, or just witches, try to live in harmony with nature, and take responsibilty for nature and our actions. Witches believe the god, goddess energy is in everything and every one. Not an external force. We believe in the ALL, the ONE deity, We divide this into facets, one male one female to represent the polarity the balance, of the All. They represent the characteristics of the male and female. The All, The One is so large, it is easier to recognize smaller parts, each facet, to relate to it. We do not have to practice magick to be a wiccan, but most do. |
