RIDE HISTORY & INFO
Where Boomerang stands today, the old Zugspitz once stood. The Zugspitz was a ride like Musik Express which was there from 1973 to sometime before 1977. The cars were possible manufactured by a German or other European company. Since Boomerang & Scamper (the junior bumper cars) opened the same year, I think it's safe to say the cars were made by the same company. The first bumper car ride at Lagoon was the Dodgem. Dodgem could have been where Scamper is now. In 1966, the Autoskooter opened, most likely replacing the Dodgem cars. There are three different kinds of car styles: Ford, Opel & Mercedes Benz. They're actually all the same, they just have different names on the grill and all of them are painted in different colors.
The building used to be painted dark and light brown with several old cars like the Pierce Arrow painted on the light parts. The pictures had the year, make and model of each car below it. The inside wall of the building was repainted sometime before the 2002 season. It now has a landscape painted across it. In 2003, pictures of antique cars were added to the wall. Some of them may be the same pictures that were once painted on the outside of the building, but have since been painted over.
