RIDE HISTORY & INFO
Cliffhanger sits just north of the Wild Mouse where the 40-year old Speedway Senior once was. The Speedway was apparently getting too hard to maintain so now this ride and The Spider have taken its place.
Over the winter of 2001-02, Lagoon shipped most of the ride back to the manufacturer because it had parts which were not chlorine-proof. Now Lagoon uses electricity instead of chlorine to clean the water (not sure how that works, but if someone does, email me). The Cliffhanger was open regularly and ran much better in 2004.
In 2003, they announced that Cliffhanger would close during shows at the Lagoon Music Theatre. But the ride hardly operated at all that season because it took forever to get parts to fix it. It could have been ready at the end of the season, but they didn't open it because it was the last week Lagoon was open for the year. From what I have heard, it seems Cliffhanger operated significantly better in 2004.

These riders seem to be seconds away from getting soaked.
