RIDE HISTORY & INFO
The roof used to be painted orange, yellow and light green. It was repainted as it is now in the early 1990s. In 2004, the inside seats were switched from single seats to double seats. You'd think that would add to the ride's capacity, but everytime I counted, I came up with 48 so maybe it's still the same.
Though commonly known as a Wave Swinger, Lagoon named their model Turn Of The Century. Most likely because it was installed in 1987 when Lagoon celebrated it's centennial year (even though the centennial year would have been 1986). The Centennial Screamer also opened the same year. It was probably unintentionally, but the name could also be referring to the fact that the ride it replaced, the Rockets, were built at the turn of the 20th Century in 1900. This is one of two rides on which no open-toed shoes are allowed. The other one is Paratrooper.
