A MEMORIAL TO ALL OUR LOST HAMSTERS    By Jack Shelton   Hamsters are lil balls of fluff Feet moving hard and fast whether on the wheel or while you hold them   Some are loving pets Some are a bit standoffish Some beg for your attention Some want to be left alone   While some are large and some are small While some are black or cream Others are many different colors   Dwarves of all types Syrians of every color They all need our love and protection Thats all they ask from us   They give us back much love and pleasure From their antics and affection Their lives too short, lost too quickly Never to be forgotten no matter how small they are © 2004 Jack Shelton I'm a published poet, and this poem it dedicated to everyone who has loved and lost a beloved hamster.
