About 1/2 hour after noticing she was gone, 8 year old daughter could calm down and be quiet enough to listen and get our dog to help sniff around while she loked under toys and stuff while Dad could in the basement and look on internet for ways to find or trap lost hamsters.

Dad heard infrequent scratching and movement in duct above his computer. Gretta was trying to climb around inside there. Dad pulled off vent cover inbasement ceiling near the noise for access. We turned off the furnace and put a piece of banana just inside the vent blowing from the ceiling in the basement. It took two tries to grab her when she came within reach to eat the banana. We had a box below the vent opening to catch her when/if she fell. She was very dirty with soot type dust. Hopefully she'll be ok and rehydrate herself after all that heat blowing on her all night. We have used the type of screening to keep leaves out of gutters inside of the vents where the round duct goes down inside the vent to prevent this from happening on the next inevitable escape (keeps other stuff out too). A scary and worrysome event that turned out well in the end.

i was taking him to get a new cage and the owners were my friends parents, and they let me try out the cages with her. I put her in a big cage and the bars were wide enough that she could fit through so i turned around to talk to the owner to tell him that it was to big and when I turned back around she was gone! i looked high and low then i found a track of seeds, so i followed the track and sure enough i found her shadow. so my friends and I tore the intire shelf apart and i got bit by a hoboe spider trying to get her! (fourtunatly i am ok) so after i delt with that we went back to work and finall I got my little Baby Joeyta!

1 minute he was happily rolling about in his ball, and i went upstairs to get something. when i came down, at the bottom of the stairs was an open, empty hamster ball- it seemed to have opened when alfie bumped into a clay fake flower vaser in a corner. i shouted out and pretty soon we had the whole house crawling around on their knees looking for him! we were all relieved when he was found behind a door- especially since it was only the second day of having him! now we put tape on the lids of the balls so they donty fall off!

we borrowed a humane mouse trap and baited it with T-Bone's favorite food (apples.) We set it up in my brother's bedroom, thinking it was a long-shot that T-Bone would show up. The next morning, T-Bone was in the trap! We are glad to have him back, the little rascally rodent!

I'd checked on the babies the night before right before I went to bed @ 2 am. The next morning my mom came to visit and I couldn't wait to show her how big her (furry) grandkids were getting. I opened the top of the cage (it was shut!) & we were ohing & ahing over how cute they were when I realized the pile wasn't nearly big enough! Panic ensued as I herded my human kids into their rooms so as not to step on a loose baby. I picked up the end of the couch and there they were! Snuggled up in a pile happy as can be! None were hurt in the fall! Amazing, Lucky, Little Pups!

Basement in a bucket trap I made for him... he he... I knew he was down there becuase I set up food stations on each floor of the house, and noticed that the food was gone in the basement.

I set up food stations on each floor of the house, then i noticed that the food was gone in the basement. I then took a bucket, and a whole bunch ofbooks and food and created a rampt bucket trap, with food leading up to the bucket on the books, and a whole bunch of food and soft blankets in the bottom of the bucket. I was so happy to see my baby!

I saw my kitten snooping around my sleeping bag in the living room and saw hin grab something and I was curious what it was so i followed him down the hall he took whatever it was in the bathroom and I pushed my cat away and there i saw my dear little hamster Angel with a large cut on her back about the size of a dime. I thought she was dead until I picked her up and she started moving. I looked at her cage and saw how she might have gotten hurt but she also pushed th etube of the cage and got out. The poor babie had to be treated everynight for about a week with hydrogen poroxcide, she is healed now though and she i sback to normal.:)
