Welcome to Joe's pages  In tribute to Joseph DiPrete-DiGioia.  Joseph is loved as a wonderful son, brother, friend, nephew, grandson, and cousin.

"True success is not measured by how much you have amassed but by how much you have given of yourself. Those who have given of themselves to others, live forever within the hearts and minds of those they have touched."

Check out Joe's photos, writing, art on the left links.

Joe's story and that of thousands of athletes who die too young: Many of these sudden deaths are PREVENTABLE!  www.safeathletes.org

Read about the new recommendations by the NATA and 12 national medical and health organizations, including the AAFP, AHA, and SCAA, June 18, 2006. They are bringing a greater awareness to all schools, and better preparation for possible sudden cardiac arrest: http://www.nata.org/sca/executive_summary.htm

State news. CARDIAC ARREST IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH on school  grounds, and is the number one cause of death in the country. Maine's new state law strongly encourages AEDs in all public places & provides immunity in the placement and use of AEDs.  We need to urge CPR/AED training in schools.
Do you know your school's emergency response plan (ERP)? Parents, Athletic Directors, Coaches: Do you know the emergency response plan?  Are you certified in CPR/AED? Does every coach and athlete know where the portable AED is during practice and competitions?
