Hi All you Creative People,

Now is fun time!  Yes!  You too can put all these neat little graphic images in your messages.  When you click on "New Discussion"

or click the "reply" button on a message a second screen pops up, letting you title your message.  After that, there will be a heading starting with a scissor icon.  Here's what all those icons mean and what fun you can have with them.  (Remember - your sewing does come first! LOL!)

TOP ROW

  1.    Scissors = cut - you can drag your mouse across anything you want to cutout and click this or hit delete.  However, clicking the scissors, puts that information on your clip board (icon 3) and the part you cut, can then be pasted somewhere else.
  2. Two pages = copy - the highlighted area is copied to the clipboard but also stays in place.
  3. Clip board = storage for the last thing cut or copied
  4. Paragraph = gives a style /  size for a paragraph heading.
  5. Font style = click on what ever style you want your writing to appear in.
  6. Font size = size of font you want to use.  You cannot click on both style and size, but you can highlight the style or size after you have written and add a change in style and size.
  7. B = Bold writing
  8. I = Italic writing
  9. U = Underlined writing
  10. Then next 3 relate to the format of the text - left alignment,    centered alignment, right alignment

SECOND ROW

  1.   1.2.3. = is the numbers down the side of the page
  2. The next one puts a bullet in front of each paragraph
  3. The next two will allow you to put in sub headings when using bullets or numbers or to arrange indentations for paragraphs.
  4. The - will allow you to insert a line where ever your cursor is.  Pressing enter, will do the same.
  5.    The ball and chain allows you to insert an internet address (URL) link in your message under a picture or line of words.  Just highlight the words or click on the picture, then click on the icon and insert the internet address.  When your message is posted, a little hand will indicate that it is a hot link that can be clicked on.  It is always a good idea to indicate the need to "click here" or "click on the picture" so others will know!
  6. That calendar looking icon lets you make a table with lots of little boxes and this is the area you can do frames and background colors.  You must click on and respond to each category.  Generally I change the columns and rows each to read 1, the spacing and padding to each read 3-5, the border to 3-10 and then choose a color for it by moving your cursor until you have the color you want, and then click on background and add that color also.  Fun to play with!
  7. Now the mountain - and this is the fun one!  When you click on that a third screen will come up.  On the left, is a list of site names.  Try clicking on NanaPennyPocket.  This will give you a list of topics to choose from.  Click one that sounds like what you have in mind.  Graphics to use are available in albums labelled: Silly Stuff, Good Morning, Welcome, Thank You, Seasonal, and Kudos and Praise.  On the right, the graphics in this area will load - it takes a minute or so depending on how many there are in the folder.  Then, you can click on the one you want to use and a red box will show around it. (If you change your mind, you must reclick on the first item to take away the red box. ) Then click the "Add Photos" button and the picture will come out where ever your cursor is on the message page.  DO NOT USE ANY GRAPHICS IN ANY OF THE LISTS THAT ARE LABELLED MANAGER'S USE. Those require special permissions for the people using them. In this same box you can also use any of the graphics from the clip art gallery or click on my computer and browse to add something from your own computer.
  8.    The little paint can = background color for your message
  9. The underlined A lets you change the color of anything highlighted.
  10.  = computer "emoticons"     and more!  Try it!

That's it!  Now you too are computer geniuses!

Have Fun !
