BIGFOOT TALE
Here's my story about the possible Big Foot tracks.
"We owned 20 acres of vacant property in N.W. Arkansas, 10 miles
northwest of Fort Smith. We bought it in hopes of one day building a
home there when we retire. We went there a few times to go camping,
primitive style. There were no buildings or wells on the property, but
there was a natural spring that came up out of the ground.
Summer 1994 was the last time we went camping there. My husband and I
were walking the property and came upon some tracks. The tracks were
near the spot where the spring came up out of the ground. There were
two tracks, one on each side of the downslope of the small gulley the
spring ran down. This gulley was at most 3 feet across from top slope
to top slope, and about 2 feet deep at the bottom. The gulley had about
8 inches of water, about a foot wide, running down it. It had rained a
couple of days before, but it was summer so the spring was down a bit as
usual in summer.
When I first saw the tracks I thought it may be a bear, but they weren't
shaped the same as bear tracks. The tracks were hugh! I could put my
entire foot in one and the tracks were at least 5 inches longer and 2
inches wider. I wear women's size 9C shoe, which is fairly large for a
woman. The tracks sunk down in the soft soil at least 4 inches, and the
toe and heal were shaped like a bare human foot. The tracks looked like
whoever or whatever made them had stepped across the stream, one on each
side of the down slope.
I called my husband over to see the tracks. He said those didn't look
like any bear tracks he had ever seen in his years of experience as a
hunter. They looked like human tracks, but if a human made them that
person was very large.
A few months later, we were discussing selling that property. I told my
husband whenever we went there I felt like I was being watched. He said
he did too. We decided to sell the property that winter, and did."
That's my story, Ufo2. Although it's not in Oklahoma proper, the
location of the property was only about 15 miles east of the
Arkansas/Oklahoma state line.
Thanks,
